How kids play
- Pick an animal from big picture bubbles, then press GO!. The dice picks one for you.
- Tap anywhere (or press the space bar) to cheer. The faster you tap, the faster your animal runs. Holding a key down doesn't count, so it's real tapping.
- Tap fast enough and your animal goes rainbow. Reach 100 taps and it stays rainbow to the finish, unless another animal knocks it off in a scuffle.
- Whoever is in front wears the crown. Near the end, the animals behind get a speed boost, so races stay exciting and anyone can win.
- Every finish earns stars: 3 for winning, 2 for the podium, 1 for taking part. Nobody loses everything.
New animals to unlock
Kids start with six animals. Six more join one at a time, each with a surprise reveal:
- Rusty the fox: finish a race.
- Bongo the monkey: go rainbow in a race.
- Inky the octopus and Boulder the wombat: win races.
- Paddles the platypus and Ember the dragon: win races of 9 animals.
Races of 9 animals open when there are 9 animals to pick from, and races of 12 when all 12 have joined.
Made for little hands
- One simple action, big pictures instead of words, and a cheer for every tap.
- No timers, no lives, nothing to lose, and no pressure to keep playing.
- Flashing effects stay well under three flashes a second.
- A short race takes about 30 seconds, so it's easy to stop after "one more".
- The sound button (top right) turns all sound off. On a computer, M does the same.
Full screen and offline
- Android and tablets: the first tap goes full screen.
- iPhone and iPad: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The game then opens full screen like an app.
- After the first visit, the game keeps working without internet, in the car or on a plane, with the animals it has already downloaded.
